Job Overview

The Patient Care Equipment Specialist is responsible for utilizing sales, service, and educational expertise to guarantee the safe delivery, installation, and operation of medical equipment while providing outstanding customer service within the community served by SG Homecare Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport and install necessary medical equipment at patients' homes or healthcare facilities.
  • Instruct clients on the proper usage and maintenance of respiratory and durable medical devices.
  • Adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of:
    • Current Home Medical Equipment (HME) products and services available through SG Homecare Inc.
    • All pertinent governmental regulations.
  • Manage assigned territory to achieve service objectives and ensure timely delivery of equipment and oxygen, in compliance with industry standards and governmental regulations.
  • Complete written reports following patient visits, including setup and follow-up documentation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer equipment issues.
  • Handle administrative tasks and process orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Promote services and products to community referral sources as appropriate.
  • Enhance technical knowledge of HME or respiratory products and services offered by SG Homecare Inc.
  • Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to meet company, state, and federal standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on home oxygen systems through scheduled visits.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs on equipment, adhering to company policies.
  • Report any equipment hazards or product incidents as required.
  • May be tasked with cleaning, disinfecting, and assisting with equipment repairs.
  • Ensure that the delivery vehicle is always fueled and ready for operation.
  • Maintain accurate mileage and repair records.
  • Ensure proper delivery and tracking of serialized equipment for inventory control.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in mandatory on-call and callback programs to address emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience or successful completion of training in home medical equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing with at least one year of driving experience.
  • Strong navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation tools to determine optimal routes.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to track deliveries and adhere to schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients.
  • Physical stamina and upper body strength to lift and transport heavy equipment and packages.
  • Dependable and punctual to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
  • Ability to read maps and plan for potential traffic, construction, and weather delays.
  • Willingness to travel by plane and automobile as necessary.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
