Helen Keller Services is a leader in providing services for individuals who are blind, visually impaired or have combined hearing and vision loss. We are currently seeking an experienced Residence Manager Assistant to join our team in Wantagh, NY.

About the Position

The Residence Manager Assistant will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA), including ensuring consistent and timely communication among staff. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability, with night and weekend shifts, as well as 24-hour availability by telephone.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in residential care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Key responsibilities will include assisting with staff communication, working with the nutritionist to determine menus, and providing training on HKSB policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily operations of the IRA, including ensuring consistent and timely communication among staff.
  • Work with the nutritionist to develop menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
  • Deliver training sessions on HKSB policies and procedures, as well as OPWDD regulations.
  • Coordinate Life Plan meetings for each resident.
  • Monitor progress of residents and incorporate goals into their individualized plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree in special education, psychology or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one year's supervisory experience in a residential setting serving individuals with multiple disabilities.
  • Current AMAP, CPR, First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and policies required.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $22.00 - $24.50 per hour.
