Job Summary

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team. This is a full-time position with an estimated annual salary of $73,361 in Spokane, WA. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic recreation services to patients at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient needs and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Provide a range of recreational activities, including sports, games, and creative arts, to promote social interaction, cognitive function, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes to inform treatment decisions and evaluate program effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
