Pharmacy Technician

Germanna Community College is seeking a highly qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the College's mission to provide high-quality education and training to students.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice and a passion for teaching and mentoring. You will be responsible for teaching classes within our established Pharmacy Technician program and serving as the Pharmacy Technician Program Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching up to 15 credit hours per semester using diverse teaching methods to connect with all student populations, both in-person and online.
- Providing personalized academic advising and timely feedback on assignments.
- Developing engaging curriculum and working with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participating in college events, committees, and professional development activities that align with our mission.
- Upholding college standards and federal guidelines, incorporating equitable teaching practices, and continually refining your teaching approach.
- Providing oversight and feedback to part-time faculty and developing plans for program success.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist or nationally certified pharmacy technician.
- Two years of experience working in a pharmacy within the past five years.
- Associate degree in the teaching field or required credentials specified in the VCCS-29: Normal Criteria for Each Faculty Rank.
- Demonstration of strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstration of ability to facilitate student success in higher education.
- Willingness to assume relevant technological skills required for effective teaching.
- Willingness to assume duties to support the strategic goals of Germanna Community College.
- Demonstration of commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
- Indication of teaching and service furthering the goal of building a culturally diverse educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in pharmacy or related field.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Track record of leadership.
- Experience teaching in an online environment (synchronous/asynchronous) and use of a learning management system such as Canvas.
