Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour | Paid bi-weekly
Employment Type: Onsite
Shift Details: Rotating weekends; availability for an 8-hour shift between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm
Role Responsibilities:- Support the preparation and dispensing of medications under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, adhering to state pharmacy laws.
- Engage in advanced pharmacy technician duties beyond prescription filling, including roles in Control Room, MTS (prepack machines), inventory management, data entry, IV preparation, and servicing medication dispensing machines.
- Accurately fill prescription orders, ensuring compliance with state regulations and pharmacy standards.
- Label medications correctly, including necessary cautionary and auxiliary information.
- Participate in regular inventory assessments of pharmacy stock.
- Assist with the receiving of pharmaceuticals and supplies, restocking shelves, and removing expired items.
- Prepare various forms of medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may involve non-sterile compounding.
- Maintain professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Handle returned medications for credit or disposal as needed.
- Contribute to the training and onboarding of new pharmacy staff.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Consistent attendance is expected during the initial training period.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Virginia is mandatory.
- National certifications are preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a pharmacy technician role, preferably in a long-term care environment.
- Full-time employees are eligible for benefits after 90 days, including health, vision, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance.
- A 401(k) plan with company matching is available for full-time employees after one year of service.
