The position involves both front desk responsibilities and Medical Assistant duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit positive interpersonal skills when interacting with physicians, patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Welcome patients and visitors, whether in person or via phone, addressing inquiries or directing them appropriately.
- Coordinate patient appointments efficiently.
- Accurately gather and input patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Verify insurance details and ensure accurate processing.
- Handle payment collection at the time of service.
- Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Medical Assistant Duties (when required):
- Complete necessary charting and documentation following clinic protocols and provider instructions.
- Administer injections, draw blood, and manage suture/staple removal, ensuring compliance with clinic policies.
- Respond to patient inquiries related to clinical care, assisting providers in ongoing patient management.
- Deliver patient education under the guidance of the provider.
- Prepare and sanitize treatment areas and medical instruments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a medical assistant.
- Familiarity with medical office management systems and procedures.
- Strong time management abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Service-oriented mindset with excellent social perceptiveness.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Robust organizational capabilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma; some college education preferred.
- Certification as a medical assistant.
- Two years of experience in a clinical environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with EHR systems is a plus.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Willingness to travel to various clinic locations.
