This role encompasses managing fertilizer inventory, overseeing bulk storage, conducting tank farm operations, and ensuring the blending of both liquid and dry fertilizers, along with their delivery and setup for clients.

The supervisor will also support the Branch Manager in the fertilizer market and provide essential technical training to the sales team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Procures fertilizer and maintains effective inventory management.
  • Oversees bulk storage operations for the tank farm.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations governing fertilizer equipment.
  • Directs the blending processes for liquid and dry fertilizers.
  • Evaluates product profitability and optimizes the use of company-owned equipment.
  • Collaborates with the branch manager to develop marketing strategies aimed at maximizing fertilizer revenue.
  • Delivers technical training to the sales team within the branch.
  • May be required to operate a company vehicle as necessary.
  • Performs other work-related tasks as assigned by leadership.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience is essential.
  • A comprehensive understanding of fertilizer products, blending techniques, logistics, and marketing strategies is required.
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license is necessary.

Skills for Success:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of small engine and pump repair.
  • Experience in welding.
  • Background in marketing.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of a warehouse and distribution setting, where noise levels can range from moderate to loud, and occasionally very loud.

In this role, employees will frequently work near moving machinery and may encounter fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, as well as risks associated with electrical shock.

This position requires the use of hands for various tasks and involves talking, hearing, walking, standing, and sitting. Regular lifting or moving of up to 100 pounds is expected.
