We are seeking a Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicle Operator to join our team at Waste Management. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about operating heavy-duty commercial vehicles and providing excellent customer service.

About the Job:

We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious driver to operate a variety of environments, including residential, commercial, and construction sites. The successful candidate will have a valid CDL Class B license and 4 years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 4 years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL required or equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years
  • A valid CDL Class B Commercial Drivers License
  • Eligible to legally work in the country where the position is located
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Salary:$68,000 - $80,000 per year (estimated)

Responsibilities:

  1. Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on swing routes
  2. Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair
  3. Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service
  4. Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager
  5. Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts
  6. Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
  7. Notifies Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route
  8. Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager
  9. Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris
  10. Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed
  11. Positions containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic
  12. Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route
