Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Cadrex is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure the quality standards of the company are met in the products produced for customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that processes and operations are completed to meet customer specification of quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and assist with managing small scope quality engineering projects, including influencing objectives, timelines, work schedules, and leading communications within the plant.
  • Participate as a member of the CAPA Corrective Action System team member for the Business Unit; lead Corrective Action Teams for both Internal and Externally required CAPAs.
  • Assist with communicating broad quality engineering and related manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Review corrective action requests, inspection and audit results, failure reports, customer documentation, and other areas as required.
  • Interpret results of inspections, audits, and reports and implement solutions.
  • Lead assigned teams in investigations, inspection programs, advanced testing, and related areas.
  • Develop and review reports, documents, and tests, and adjust operations or activities as needed.
  • Assist QEs with investigating customer questions and concerns.
  • Respond to a variety of broad questions and concerns from suppliers, and management regarding quality programs, test results, interpretation of findings, corrective actions, and other areas.
  • Develop and deliver internal presentations and training as required.
  • Interpret and apply department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; ensure compliance with these areas.
  • Serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.
  • Reject products not meeting specifications and hold further processing or shipment until non-conformances are resolved.
  • Authorize disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Approve products for manufacturing and shipment.
  • Interpret tolerances, drawings specifications, quality standards and procedures, or other part acceptance criteria for production personnel.
  • Communicate directly with internal departments on Quality matters.
Requirements:
  • Must possess ability to use statistical tools and/or software, performance measuring system analysis and methods.
  • Must possess ability to apply basic quality principles and practices and be able to lead teams using Problem Solving Methodologies such as 8D.
  • Experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment, Green Belt, ISO 9000 Auditing.
  • Blueprint reading certification.
  • ASQC a plus.
  • Basic PC skills with proficiency using MS office suite.
  • Experience using an ERP manufacturing system.
  • Ability to use eDrawings and SolidWorks a plus.
Education:
  • High school diploma.
  • Trade school certification/degree preferred.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
