About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Moderna. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing and support systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including cGMP documentation.
  • Collaborate with equipment owners and vendors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on manufacturing and support systems, including process air, chilled water, nitrogen, and water for injection generation and distribution systems.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for facilities operations, including revisions and author/owner responsibilities.
  • Provide on-call support and respond to facilities issues as needed.
  • Manage spare parts, tools, and equipment to ensure availability for assigned tasks.
  • Respond to alarms and document activities in accordance with cGMP requirements.
  • Manage contract service providers, including scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with cGMP requirements.
  • Administer and perform hazardous energy control procedures and confined space entry.
Requirements
  • BS degree or AS degree with 2 years of relevant facilities experience or HS/Trade School with 5+ years of relevant facilities experience.
  • Military training equivalent of above is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations related to LOTO, MSDS, Confined Space, and Hot Work.
  • Experience with Metrology.
  • Understanding of PLC controls for simple troubleshooting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written presentation.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Customer service mindset.
  • Ability to use technical expertise and judgment to investigate issues using a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new equipment/systems.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate computerized data and information management systems.
  • Ability to interact well with other groups and take ownership of assignments with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to drive results on multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal direction from management.
