Position: Paralegal and Legal Assistant (Remote Work Available)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM - Full-Time
Contract Duration: One Year Full-Time Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly evaluate the factual basis of consumer grievances related to utility services and apply relevant laws or regulations to investigate these issues.
- Respond to inquiries and provide information, while reviewing and analyzing company documentation to address customer complaints both verbally and in writing.
- Coordinate with service providers to obtain necessary information regarding disputes to ensure accurate case records.
- Request service providers to perform premise inspections or meter tests to assess service adequacy and billing accuracy.
- Document and compile complaint data and workload information, assisting in the preparation of reports.
- Guide service providers in taking necessary actions to resolve disputes effectively.
- These responsibilities require personnel to develop specialized knowledge of Public Service Law and Regulations through research and training. Previous experience as a legal secretary, paralegal, or investigator, or experience in dispute resolution, is advantageous.
- Candidates must possess the ability to conduct factual investigations into customer service and consumer protection complaints.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, along with analytical abilities, are essential for investigating and resolving consumer disputes regarding utility services. The selected candidate should be adept at gathering relevant facts from both customers and utility providers, applying applicable laws and regulations to the presented facts, and making informed decisions on complaints.
- Attention to deadlines is crucial to ensure consumer protection.
- A High School Diploma is required.
