As a Patient Support Technician at US Renal Care, you will play a vital role in a collaborative team dedicated to delivering care and executing treatment activities for patients.

The Patient Support Technician will operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse, focusing on individuals with kidney failure.

Your Responsibilities
Patient Interaction: You will engage directly with patients to ensure safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis care.

Your duties will include monitoring patient statistics before and after treatments, initiating dialysis sessions, overseeing patients during procedures, concluding treatments, and collecting blood samples as per physician directives.

Technical Responsibilities:

You will prioritize quality by preparing dialysis machines for treatment, ensuring thorough cleaning and disinfection post-treatment, and performing safety checks on equipment while documenting results for quality assurance, adhering to all established protocols and regulations.

Safety and Compliance: You will implement necessary safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Participation in mandatory staff meetings and ongoing educational opportunities is expected.


STATE-SPECIFIC CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
California: Must hold a current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certificate from the California Department of Public Health at the time of employment or be hired at a USRC location recognized by California as an approved dialysis technician training program and obtain California state certification within six weeks of completing the training program.
Maryland: Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistants Dialysis Technicians (CNA-DT) certificate from the Maryland Board of Nursing or be hired at a USRC location recognized by Maryland as an approved dialysis technician training program and obtain the Maryland CNA-DT certificate within three months of hire or provide proof of initial application for CNA-DT certification if an out-of-state applicant with active BONENT certification.
New Mexico: Must have a New Mexico dialysis technician certificate at the time of hire or be hired at a USRC location recognized by New Mexico as an approved dialysis technician training program and obtain New Mexico state certification within six months of completing the training program. Out-of-state applicants must have an active state or national hemodialysis certification and obtain New Mexico state certification prior to working as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician.
Ohio: Must possess an Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate at the time of hire or be hired at a USRC location recognized by Ohio as an approved dialysis technician training program and submit an application for the Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate to the board no later than four weeks prior to completing the approved training program. Must obtain the Ohio Board of Nursing Certificate (OCDT) within twelve to eighteen months of enrolling in the USRC OCDT program.
Oregon: Must hold a current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHDT) certificate from the Oregon Public Health Division at the time of hire or obtain an Oregon dialysis technician provisional certificate within three weeks of completing the training program and secure the Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHDT) certificate from the Oregon Public Health Division within eighteen months.
