About the Role:

The Project Estimator will be responsible for producing comprehensive pipeline project cost estimates, providing data and cost analysis for estimate reviews and presentations, and managing project resources, timelines, and cost margins until project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize company-approved costing methodologies, data, and systems to present detailed estimate results for project managers and teams.
  • Prepare cost estimates, ensuring all necessary costs are included, such as management services, equipment, materials, construction, and operating costs.
  • Attend client meetings, visit job sites, and maintain records of verbal information disseminated during these interactions.
  • Prepare project cost estimates from client RFQ documents, drawings, and other information gathered during the pre-bid showing.
  • Explain the details behind each estimate, including the basis of man-hours allocated, personnel resources needed, and other relevant factors.
  • Maintain accurate cost estimating tools, databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications to track past performance and industry standards.
  • Maintain communication lines between company departments, project managers, and clients regarding cost estimating activities.
  • Assist project managers in developing alternative project execution approaches based on scope and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in project cost estimating/project management, with a focus on pipeline projects from start to finish.
  • Field experience in pipeline construction, compressor and pump stations, and other upstream oil and gas facilities is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Hard Dollar.
  • Experience in project cost estimating, contract negotiation, and logistics outsourcing is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering, technical, or construction management degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
