CDL Driver Guide

About the Role:

We are seeking a Transportation Tour Guide to join our team at Cape Fox Tours in Ketchikan, Alaska. As a CDL Driver Guide, you will be responsible for safely transporting guests to their designated tour venues while providing educational details and stories about the local area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely Provide Guest Transportation: Utilize excellent customer service skills to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
  • Narrated Tours: Drive a motorcoach and provide engaging narratives about the local area, including its history, culture, and points of interest.
  • Guest Services: Direct and assist passenger movement between cruise ships and tour vehicles, collect tickets, and provide tour itineraries.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform inspections on vehicles, maintain reports of daily mileage, fuel logs, and hours, and ensure the vehicle is always clean.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with dock staff, cruise line partners, and tour venue staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Safety: Report all accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, and damages, and adhere to state laws while operating vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience: Prior experience in positions involving customer service or tourism is preferred.
  • Licensing and Certification: A valid CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements, a valid DOT med card, and a Motor Vehicle Record from the state of the driver's current license going back 3 years.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to regularly lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks that require standing, walking, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent personal hygiene, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Salary:$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience
