The pharmacy technician will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare customized medications. All tasks must adhere to the guidelines set forth by USP 795/797/800 and the policies of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all duties of a Pharmacy Service Representative to guarantee accurate and timely customer service.
- Gather essential patient data necessary for processing prescription orders, including refill authorizations from healthcare providers, data entry, prescriber searches, and insurance billing.
- Prepare a variety of compounded medications such as oral solutions, capsules, ointments, and injectables, ensuring proper packaging and labeling in compliance with state regulations.
- Assist in managing inventory by reviewing orders, disposing of medications properly, restocking, and preparing for physical inventory counts.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the compounding laboratory in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Previous laboratory experience is essential.
- A degree in health sciences is highly preferred (completed or in progress).
- Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic mathematical skills are required for performing calculations related to prescriptions.
- Excellent customer service abilities are a must.
- Eligibility for certification with the State Board of Pharmacy in Michigan is required.
- A certificate from an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Familiarity with the SRS pharmacy system is advantageous.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
