The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is seeking a dedicated Physical Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment against unauthorized access and potential threats.
Key Responsibilities- Access Management: Control the entry of personnel, vehicles, and materials to ensure a secure perimeter.
- Visitor Processing: Manage security access for visitors and provide assistance as needed.
- Monitoring Systems: Operate and monitor alarm systems and CCTV to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to identify and address any security or safety concerns.
- Emergency Response: Act as a first responder during emergencies and coordinate with local authorities as necessary.
- Incident Reporting: Document and report incidents accurately to maintain a record of events.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in physical security, law enforcement, military, or a related customer service role is required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; equivalent experience or education in relevant fields is preferred.
- Licensing: Preferred candidates will possess a Texas Department of Public Safety Level III Commissioned Security Officer license.
- Successful completion of a physical abilities test as per Security Training and Qualification Guidelines.
- Compliance with state-required training for licensing.
