In this role, you will provide direct patient care, patient and family teaching, and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maintain standards of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation, identifying and reporting changes in patients' status to the Registered Nurse for evaluation.
  • Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Administer treatments and other direct care, including preparing and administering medications as prescribed, observing and evaluating residents' responses to medications, and identifying and promptly communicating adverse drug reactions to the Registered Nurse.
  • Collect specimens as ordered, interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues, and collaborate with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Ohio
  • IV certified
  • Current BLS certification
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic nursing service, knowledge, and skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practice
Working Conditions
  • Working hours vary according to departmental needs
  • Works under the direct supervision of an RN
  • Lunch and break periods will be assigned by the Charge RN
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • May require exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment
