Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to the engineering team, ensuring successful development and design of profitable products.
  • Manage projects from concept development to implementation and evaluation, utilizing expertise in project management and technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external resources to create synergy and alignment, driving innovation and growth.
  • Research and develop advanced technologies, staying up-to-date with industry trends and leading new product development.
  • Identify and execute research projects in support of product development, working on diverse projects and acting as a technical lead and mentor.
  • Provide expertise throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept to fielded product, ensuring successful implementation and resolution of post-launch issues.
  • Oversee and lead prototype generation, evaluating design, functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Formulate and submit development, unit, and tooling cost estimations, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
  • Ensure that all products have adequate written product specifications and meet specification requirements, with prints, documentation, and testing verification methods in place.
  • Review and document technical feasibility evaluations, qualification, field, and competitive testing to verify compliance to design.
  • Communicate testing results and required corrective actions, following up to ensure compliance with corrective action plans.
Requirements
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, specifically related to the candidate's primary technical discipline.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with technical expertise in multiple areas of specialty and advanced design experience in product development.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience functioning as a technical expert and leader, ensuring successful development and design of profitable products.
  • Expertise in managing projects from concept development to implementation and evaluation, with leadership skills and abilities to effectively provide direction, guidance, and motivation to engineers.
  • Expert-level proficiency in engineering of relevant products or process development processes, with demonstrated success in delivering results on several technical challenges.
  • Performance-focused, persistent, decision-making, open-minded, innovative/creative, and target-oriented, with the ability to organize and present complex technical and project management overviews without assistance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Skills in working effectively on cross-functional teams, with the ability to establish highly functional relationships with diverse personalities, both within and outside the company.
