As an Electrical Systems Planning Specialist, you will join our team of 800+ engineers and support staff across 20+ offices in the U.S. to plan, engineer, and construct a wide range of power delivery projects, including substations, transmission lines, energy storage facilities, distribution systems, communication systems, and industrial electrical facilities.

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Planning Specialist to work on a variety of electrical studies, including steady state loadflow, short circuit, transient analysis, harmonics, insulation coordination, and dynamic system response studies. Our team uses advanced tools such as PSS/e, PSLF, ASPEN Oneliner, PSS Cape, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV, and we are looking for someone with related experience or a willingness to learn.

As an Electrical Systems Planning Specialist, you will work closely with our customers to assist with project conceptual development, support during design, equipment selection, and assistance with plant operating issues after commissioning. You will also be responsible for apparatus ratings and specifications development for EHV/HV/MV/LV transformers, circuit breakers, switches, cables, switchgear, inverters, wind turbines, DC and AC aux power systems, etc.

Our team provides services to large and small utility and industrial clients, and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transmission level load additions, long range plans, generation interconnections, black start analysis, voltage unbalance/line transposition analysis, breaker TRV assessments, insulation coordination studies, and more.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in electrical engineering, preferably with a BSEE degree or higher. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of experience performing studies such as load flow, short circuit, transient stability/dynamic system response, HV/LV ridethrough, TOV, TRV, insulation coordination, harmonics, and interconnection studies. Ability to acquire a PE license is preferred.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on the company's location and the industry standard.
