Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Systems Analyst to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for supporting financial applications, including maintenance, configuration, systems administration, project tasks, and modifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolving technical issues, system errors, and performance problems within financial applications.
  • Facilitating meetings/discussion groups related to requirements definition/gathering, issue resolution, and process improvement.
  • Ensuring application problems are fully documented in a ticketing system.
  • Adding, removing, and modifying user accounts and groups.
  • Collaborating with business partners to design and implement processes and workflows to streamline business operations and improve productivity.
  • Facilitating system maintenance, monitoring, and business continuity, for the financial systems environment.
  • Working with software vendors or internal resources to install, configure, and test applications.
  • Creating documentation such as technical specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), dataflow diagrams, test plans, and systems documentation.
  • Collaborating with integration engineers to integrate financial systems with other systems and applications to ensure seamless data flow and enhance overall system functionality.
  • Participating in change management activities for financial applications.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Project Management best practices and methodologies.
  • Technical skills to include: ticketing system utilization, account provisioning.
  • Ability to maintain system documentation, logs, and functional instructions.
  • Ability to support business processes, changes, and updates.
  • Strategic thinking, with robust creative problem solving and inquisitive skills.
  • Ability to present technical information concisely with Proof of Concepts, diagrams, and documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building rapport and relationship with peers and end-users.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Prior experience in an analysis/administrator role.
  • Experience within the financial industry.
  • Strong customer service experience.
