The IT Project Manager II plays a vital role within the IT-PMO and IT Organization.
The Wireless IT-PMO consists of a group of enthusiastic, skilled, and driven professionals responsible for delivering IT projects at EchoStar.
The Project Manager is tasked with ensuring effective coordination, communication, and collaboration across diverse business units and development teams to achieve project goals.
They will oversee management within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and engage with business stakeholders, product managers, development teams, release management, and quality assurance teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Managers will handle multiple projects of varying sizes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Key Duties:
1. Lead the planning and execution of IT projects.
2. Facilitate the establishment of program scope, objectives, and deliverables.
3. Develop comprehensive program plans in collaboration with various IT and business teams.
4. Present and negotiate project scope and timelines with clients, senior management, and IT teams.
5. Assemble and coordinate project teams and manage resource allocation.
6. Plan and schedule project timelines and necessary meetings, whether weekly, daily, or as needed.
7. Identify, document, mitigate, and resolve risks and issues, updating the program RAID as necessary.
8. Continuously monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders.
9. Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
10. Provide evaluations and assessments of project results throughout and after deployment.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of experience in Project Management, ideally in software delivery utilizing Agile or hybrid Agile methodologies.
PMP certification and an advanced degree are advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, facilitate, and manage expectations with leadership, IT teams, and clients.
2. Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of program management.
3. Familiarity with technical hardware program management techniques and tools.
4. Working knowledge of IT systems, Agile methodologies, and the SDLC.
5. Understanding of technical infrastructure, security program management, and vendor management.
6. Experience in managing people, scope, risks, and changes.
7. Ability to translate and communicate strategic opportunities into requirements for technical teams.
8. Capacity to work collaboratively in a lead and participative role with diverse stakeholders.
9. Strong negotiation and facilitation skills, with the ability to achieve consensus.
10. Experience with Agile Project Management Tools (Rally is a plus).
11. Proficiency in GSuite, Visio, and MSProject.
