About the Role:
As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care in one of our ICU departments. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing patients' physical, psychological, socio-cultural, economic, spiritual, and lifestyle behaviors, leveraging technology efficiently, and providing relationship-based care that promotes continuous, consistent, efficient, and accountable delivery of nursing care using the nursing process. You will also identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations, critically analyze trends and changes in patient status, and plan appropriate interventions. Additionally, you will incorporate evidence-based practice and research into patient care delivery, with a focus on quality and safety, and serve as a patient advocate by independently communicating clinical concerns in a timely manner to other members of the interdisciplinary team.

You must also possess a DC Registered Nurse License and CPR certification. Basic math skills, verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills are essential for this position. You will also be expected to maintain direct observation of patients when functioning as an Observation Attendant. In addition, internal candidates must have worked in their current department for at least one year, as of the program start date, and associates in corrective action (written warning or final warning) are considered ineligible for movement for 6 months immediately following the most recent action (MedStar Policy 114).

Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $38.00 - $63.30 per hour, depending on experience, plus a generous benefits package with educational assistance, relocation reimbursement assistance based on eligibility, matched Retirement Savings Plan, specialized training opportunities with one-on-one preceptorship, nationally renowned Nursing Wellbeing Program, and much more.
