Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our Heart and Vascular Center, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce high-quality ECHO and/or Vascular images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality and efficient ultrasound exams to assist with patient diagnostic work-ups
  • Provide accurate and compassionate patient care to ensure service excellence, patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction
  • Perform various record-keeping tasks to ensure department goals are met, medical record documentation accuracy, and daily operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Participate in learning opportunities to further personal knowledge/skills and assist with teaching or training others
  • Follow established safety precautions and procedures to ensure a safe environment
Requirements
  • A minimum of an associate degree required and completion of an accredited (CAAHEP) School of Diagnostic Sonography or an additional 12 months of full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography instruction
  • Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine HVC imaging
  • Cardiac Sonographer: RDCS (ARDMS) /RCS (CCI) in echocardiography certification required; Vascular Sonographer: RVT is required for vascular ultrasound, BLS certification (obtained within 3 months of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of related experience preferred
  • Experience in structural heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman)
  • Proficient in TEEs and probe cleaning
