Job Summary

As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse at Lexington Medical Center, you will utilize the nursing process to promote and restore patients' health status, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients, family members, and significant others.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize a systematic critical-thinking approach to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention, and evaluation of human responses to actual and potential health problems.
  • Provide health teaching and supportive and restorative care, as well as support for a peaceful death, in accordance with the mission, vision, strategic imperatives, and standards of the Lexington County Health District, American Nurses Association Standards, and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
  • Establish positive rapport with patients and family members, promoting patient independence by establishing patient care goals and providing education to patients and family members in a manner they can understand.
  • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Use ethical decision-making processes and advocate for acceptable patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current RN license to practice in the State of South Carolina.
  • Minimum Education: ADN, Diploma, or Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: None.
