Job Overview

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Service Coordinator, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for traveling to client locations to install, initiate, troubleshoot, or repair industrial oven systems. When not engaged in customer service activities, the engineer will undertake various responsibilities within the company facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented with additional tasks as deemed necessary by management.

  • Deliver a "World Class Customer Experience" while interacting with clients, colleagues, potential hires, business partners, sales teams, and vendors.
  • Travel extensively (80-90 percent) to client sites for the installation and initiation of industrial ovens and systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on industrial ovens and systems at customer locations.
  • Operate company or client equipment, including service vans, forklifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Interpret technical drawings, reports, and operational instructions.
  • Conduct uniformity assessments on industrial ovens.
  • Execute electrical troubleshooting tasks.
  • Address issues related to gas, water, and air systems.
  • Engage in Program Logic Control (PLC), operator interface, communication, and frequency drive programming and debugging.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using various materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, structural angles, channels, and tubing.
  • Assemble, fit, and position weldments involving multiple components; welding experience is preferred.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other departments to resolve issues effectively.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to tackle manufacturing, design, and quality challenges, ensuring continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; three to five years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with temperature control systems, startup, and debugging processes is essential.
  • Experience with Program Logic Controls (PLC), operator interfaces, communications, and frequency programming and debugging is necessary.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is advantageous.
