Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Attorney-Adviser (General) to join our team at HQDA Field Operating Agencies and Staff Support Agencies. As a key member of our organization, you will provide legal services to Soldiers and their families, ensuring they receive the support they need during the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients in the PEB phase of the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES)
  • Prepare and present cases before the regional PEB, negotiating informal resolutions and representing clients at formal hearings
  • Conduct research, analyze medical records, and gather evidence to support client cases
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, commanders, and staff to ensure effective case management
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve client goals and desired outcomes
Requirements
  • First professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and membership in good standing with the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia
  • 2 years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Ability to effectively manage a heavy caseload and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.
