Job Title: Network Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the consulting industry, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a hybrid role in their Albuquerque, NM location. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cisco ACS for authentication, authorization, and accounting of network equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Manage incident and ticket resolution, including change, configuration, and problem management, while conducting root cause analysis with Level 2 and Level 3 support.
  • Design and install well-functioning computer networks, including connections and cabling from onsite data centers.
  • Perform troubleshooting for system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long-term efficiency of the network.
  • Test and configure software, while maintaining and repairing hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Configure and support network components, such as routers, switches, access points, and wireless controllers.
  • Responsible for network documentation using Visio tools and MS PowerPoint.
  • Configure and troubleshoot various types of access lists, as well as Cisco IOS security features.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of security vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks relevant to network implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco ACS for authentication, authorization, and accounting of network equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in ITIL.
  • 4+ years' experience in network administration role.
  • CCNA Certified.
  • Able to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve network outages, network performance issues, or networked application issues.
  • Familiar with emerging network technologies; specifically, Cisco DNAC and SD-WAN, AWS networking (Direct Connect/VPCs/Transit Gateways/VPGs/VPNs).
  • Hands-on experience with SolarWinds.
  • 4+ years hands-on experience in configuring and managing Datacenter Cisco Nexus Switches (5K,7K,9K).
  • Data center and wired/wireless campus networking needs.
  • Strong experience in Network Operating Systems (Cisco IOS XE, NX-OS, Aruba/HP)
Wireless Networks:
  • Cisco & Aruba APs and Network Controllers, including their authentication integration with Cisco ISE.
  • Demonstrable experience in Routing and Switching concept (Cisco / Juniper Platform).
  • Experience with data center and wired/wireless campus networking needs.
  • Advanced knowledge with core network infrastructure technologies and protocols (campus routing & switching, WLAN, 802.1x, STP, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Experience operating and maintaining chassis switches, with knowledge of various redundancy technologies (VSS, HSRP, SSO, vPC).

Cisco IOS security features and basic knowledge of security vulnerabilities, threats and attacks about implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting of Cisco ACS for authentication, authorization and accounting of network equipment.
