Job Summary

Commnet Broadband is seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing telecommunications networks to meet the organization's communication needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain data networks, including LANs, WANs, and other network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network operation and minimal downtime.
  • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Collaborate with network architects and other teams to plan and implement network upgrades and expansions.
  • Manage network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Conduct regular network audits and assessments to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and training to other Network staff and end users as necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in network engineering and data operations.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and configuration management of Juniper Routers and Firewalls in a service provider environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIP, or equivalent.
  • Telecommunications network experience.
  • Familiarity with VoIP, SIP, WDM technologies.
  • Experience with Fiber and Fixed Wireless broadband service vendors: Adtran, Tarana, and Nokia.
