Who You Are
We're looking for a Power Electronics Engineer who speaks the language of machines and understands the physics of electrons in semi-conductive materials. You're someone who can bring an idea to life - from human thought to digital blueprint to physical reality. If you're energized to solve power delivery challenges and evolve technology to meet tomorrow's needs, we want to hear from you.
As a Power Electronics Engineer at Spellman, you'll be central to our mission of powering progress for a better future. You'll design power supplies that create and control high voltage electricity using cutting-edge technology, and in some cases, develop new technology to do so. Every day will bring a new challenge, but you can expect to:
- Collaborate with experts and partner with customers to create power delivery systems that meet demanding specifications
- Investigate new techniques and research new technology to improve existing designs
- Accurately and thoroughly document the design for manufacturing or later modifications
- Test your designs using state-of-the-art simulation methods
- Manage your work by aligning cost, timeframes, manufacturing requirements, and other resource constraints
What You Need
We're looking for someone with a formal technical education, such as a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, and demonstrated experience designing power electronics. You should have a thorough understanding of power conversion principles and basic converter topologies. Proficiency with digital circuit design tools and circuit simulation software is a must. Familiarity with technical documents, such as PCB layouts, circuitry schematics, and electrical and mechanical drawings, is also required.
Candidates with experience in electronics design for high voltage applications, X-Ray Generator experience, and designing products meeting UL, ISO 9001, CE, or similar rigorous standards are competitive for more senior positions.
Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $85,000 - $170,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. Relocation assistance is available.
