About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager 2 to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This is a critical leadership position responsible for managing a software engineering team across the entire development lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, developing and implementing departmental vision and strategies, and collaborating with program stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet technical quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of software engineers responsible for delivering high-quality software products.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental vision and strategies regarding people, processes, and tools.
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet technical quality, cost, and schedule objectives by gathering and reporting metrics.
  • Coordinate with program leadership to manage software staffing profiles for a large team of software engineers.
  • Participate in program functional support activities to improve execution including process audits, independent review team evaluations, tiger teams, root cause analysis, NAR/ICE, and pre-milestone reviews.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of software engineering experience, or Masters of Science degree with 7 years of software engineering experience, or PhD with 4 years of software engineering experience.
  • Prior experience in leading a software team of at least 10 employees across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with one or more of the following software development languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.
  • Currently possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
