Patient Care Specialist

**Job Summary:**
As a Patient Care Specialist, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to maintain constant observation and visualization of identified patients. Your responsibilities will include patient observation, safety, privacy, communication, conduct, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients at all times.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Patient Observation: Maintain constant direct observation and visualization of patients, never leaving them unattended, and document observations accordingly.
2. Patient Safety: Remove sharp/dangerous items from the room, screen all items brought in for patients, and contact the charge nurse with any concerns.
3. Patient Privacy: Maintain confidentiality of all patient information, refrain from discussing patient information with anyone other than the medical team, and respect patients' right to dignity while providing care.
4. Communication: Listen and acknowledge patients' complaints and feelings, convey attitudes of compassion, empathy, and understanding, and inform the RN if a patient expresses a desire to harm themselves or others.
5. Conduct: Provide patient care activities within the scope of practice and competency, refrain from making personal calls, eating food in the room, or sleeping, and ensure the comfort and safety of patients at all times.
6. Quality: Comply with all organization policies and procedures, regulatory rules and standards, and Life Safety regulations and Infection Control practices.
**Requirements:**
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience is required.
• Exceptional customer service and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
