Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Control, this pivotal role encompasses corporate accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, risk management, and payroll and benefits accounting.

As a key member of our accounting leadership team, the Corporate Accounting Leader will ensure that our accounting policies, procedures, and controls are effectively implemented in alignment with U.S. GAAP. This role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various members of the accounting and finance teams across different levels of the organization. A self-starter with extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, process implementation, and internal controls is essential. This newly established position is designed for a change leader who is enthusiastic about driving positive transformation and process enhancements. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring attendance at our corporate headquarters three times a week.

Collaboration

Reports to: Senior Vice President, Corporate Control

Collaborators: Business Unit Controllers, Director of Financial Reporting, Director of Accounting (Controls), Director of Tax, Treasurer, Directors of Finance, etc.

Direct Reports: 5 (Director of Accounts Receivable, Director of Accounts Payable, 3 Accounting Managers)

Indirect Reports: Approximately 65

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and retain a skilled accounting team while providing continuous mentorship and growth opportunities.
  • Identify and implement best practices and process improvements to drive consistency across the organization.
  • Support accounting and finance-related technologies, including the automation of manual processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement internal controls based on a risk-oriented approach, adhering to public company SOX standards.
  • Assist with external audits and act as a liaison between external auditors and business process owners.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels within the organization.

Essential Qualifications
  • Ability to work from our corporate headquarters three times a week.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in progressively responsible accounting leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; a Master's degree in accounting or an MBA is preferred.
  • CPA certification and strong technical accounting skills are required.
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP with a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Experience in a public company with a robust SOX environment is preferred.
  • Experience with private equity-backed companies is a plus.
  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain, with a preference for manufacturing experience.
  • Strong collaborator and business partner, adept at identifying proactive solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels and external customers.
