Medical Physicist

PIH Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and safe use of radiation in cancer treatments and diagnostic procedures.

• Provide technical direction to dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and therapy equipment service engineers
• Assure the accurate and safe use of radiation generated by machines and radioactive materials
• Design, optimize, and evaluate treatment plans
• Perform calibration and quality performance measures of treatment equipment and patient monitoring systems

• Certification by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration of therapy equipment, treatment planning, and clinical physics responsibilities
• Intensive experience in intensity modulated radiotherapy, imaged guided radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and high-dose-rate brachytherapy
• Participation in American College of Radiology Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation survey or equivalent accreditation programs

• Doctoral degree in medical radiation physics or Master degree from a CAMPEP-accredited medical physics program
