Key Responsibilities
  • Project Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
  • Cost Breakdowns: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain cost information and negotiate terms.
  • Contract Review: Review and interpret contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and identify potential risks.
  • Estimate Presentation: Generate and present comprehensive and clear estimates to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for steel fabrication or construction projects.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of steel materials, fabrication processes, and construction methods.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
