Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience operating forklifts is essential; certification is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

The Forklift Operator is tasked with managing incoming shipments and preparing products for distribution, including loading vehicles. Responsibilities include moving pallets from palletizers and relocating materials as directed.

Core Duties:

· Unloading delivery trucks, inspecting incoming shipments, and signing for received goods while noting any discrepancies.

· Reviewing shipping documents to ascertain items to be dispatched.

· Organizing products and supplies in anticipation of truck arrivals, including re-stacking damaged or incomplete pallets as necessary.

· Loading delivery vehicles using a forklift and manually when required.

· Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse efficiently.

· Collaborating with shipping staff and supervisors regarding issues, product details, etc.

· Understanding and executing proper procedures for pallet tagging and lot number documentation.

· Working effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Compliance & Safety Equipment Required:

While on the production floor, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is mandatory. Employees must comply with GMP guidelines outlined in the employee handbook, which includes wearing hairnets, beard nets, ear protection, and safety glasses. Compliance with standard operating procedures, including quality checks, is essential to meet food safety and quality standards.

Additional Duties:

Performs related tasks as assigned by the supervisor. In the absence of this role, responsibilities will be covered by the designated manager or appointed personnel.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee may also encounter fumes or airborne particles and risks associated with electrical shock. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and noise levels that require hearing protection is expected.
