Job Title: Transportation Manager

LT Corporation, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for promoting safe and efficient operations of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage compliance and driver safety within all operational areas, including truck inspections, medical certificates, licensing, driver log management, drug and alcohol testing, and hours of service.
  • Monitor compliance with Hours-of-Service regulations, ELD usage, pre/post trip inspections, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and handle DOT complaints under the FMSCR.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the company driver safety program, promoting safe work activities through safety audits on tractors and trailers.
  • Manage the LT Corp Logistics fleet of equipment used for transportation of tanks, ensuring strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide guidance to the Fleet Specialist in determining necessity, arranging for, and authorizing repairs of equipment to restore it to a DOT compliant state.
  • Participate in new driver orientation and on-boarding processes, communicating core safety principles and accident avoidance to drivers.
  • Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure DOT required maintenance standards are met, maintaining safety files and records.
  • Manage accident and insurance claims, conducting post-accident and post-injury investigations, root cause analysis, and ensuring proper completion of required documentation and reporting.
  • Review invoicing, monitor spending to ensure expenses are consistent with approved budgets and compliant with contracts.
  • Cultivate a team environment that leads to efficient and collaborative results, developing and maintaining positive relationships with providers that address delivery needs.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating LT Corp's leadership traits and reinforcing the company's purpose, core beliefs, and values to all team members.
  • Lead and direct the Fleet Specialist, coaching and developing for positive employee relations, best practice knowledge, managing performance and accountability, and coaching team members in LT Corp's leadership traits.
  • Manage budget, analyze expenditures, and review monthly financials to ensure budget is achieved.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and pending regulatory compliance for logistics.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation working with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations (including Parts 40, 199, & 382), and other Regulatory Guidance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rules and regulations.
  • Experience working with the transportation of hazardous materials preferred.
  • Experience managing vendor partnerships with 3PL delivery providers preferred.
Education and Certification Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
Travel:
  • Periodic travel to company or vendor sites, approximately 30%.
