Compensation and Benefits

Role Responsibilities

Bismarck State College seeks a motivated individual to undertake part-time custodial responsibilities at the MDU Community Bowl.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping various surfaces.
  • Wash windows, walls, and woodwork to maintain facility aesthetics.
  • Sanitize and maintain lavatories and restrooms, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Assist in moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Dust and clean furniture, exhibit cases, and fixtures; vacuum carpets and perform shampooing when necessary.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by sweeping, shoveling snow, and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials responsibly.
  • Conduct minor maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment.
  • Availability for weekend and evening shifts is required.
  • Encourage and support innovative ideas to enhance operational processes at the Community Bowl.
  • Assist in the coordination and oversight of events and activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands outlined are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to sit, taste, or smell, or lift weights exceeding 75 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Job may involve lifting heavy objects and exposure to potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Adherence to safety protocols when handling chemicals and equipment is mandatory.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is required, or one year of relevant custodial experience.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning tasks effectively.
  • Capacity to follow instructions and work independently post-instruction.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
