Job Summary

The Sy-Klone Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions, implementing best practices and strategies to help the Company reach its financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting processes and team responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting.
  • Responsible for timely preparation of accounting transactions, including journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close process and reports, including related Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system processes.
  • Prepare periodic standard and ad hoc reports and variance analysis for the management team and Board.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements; coordinate with external auditors to provide audit and tax schedules and support.
  • Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; file annual corporate tax returns.
  • Manage cash flow transactions, participate in planning and financial guidance on corporate structure.
  • Develop and maintain accounting internal controls, work instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are met and accounting best practices, regulations, and standards are followed.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with the ability to work independently within the department and across functional areas, while educating other leaders on their role and responsibility to the budgets.
  • Superior data management and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and the Company in best practices and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study required, CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of direct GAAP accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with cost accounting and payroll preferred.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and data structures.
  • High level of efficiency and accuracy, exceptional attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
  • May have occasional exposure to Industrial Warehouse or Production Environments.
  • Normal auditory, visual acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision, ambulation, and dexterity.
