Position Title: Fire Prevention & Security Officer, J41A/J41B
Role Summary: The selected candidates will be tasked with crucial responsibilities related to the assessment of facilities and surroundings to mitigate fire risks, enforce relevant regulations, and ensure the safety of individuals at the facility.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Monitoring designated areas to identify and rectify potential fire hazards.
- Providing assistance and guidance to staff and visitors.
- Managing traffic flow as necessary.
- Executing additional tasks associated with the safeguarding of state assets, personnel, visitors, and others.
Employment Type and Compensation:
- This is a full-time position with varying shifts.
- Annual Salary:
- Level I: $14.18/hour
- Level II: $15.14/hour
- This role is classified as Non-Exempt.
Qualifications and Experience:
Level I: No specific educational or experiential prerequisites are necessary for consideration.
Level II: Completion of a foundational security and/or firefighting course, coupled with two years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection roles.
Special Conditions:
- Upon receiving a conditional job offer, candidates must undergo a physical examination and meet the requirements for lifting/carrying up to 60 pounds occasionally, and exerting a maximum force of 30 pounds for pushing and pulling.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be prepared for any job-related travel typically associated with this role.
