Position Overview

Objective
This role involves executing a range of routine administrative and technical tasks in the acceptance, coordination, and management of casualty claims under the supervision of the Risk Management Supervisor. Key responsibilities encompass investigating claims, assessing, and settling claims in accordance with company policies. Proper documentation is maintained to support claims payments. This position operates under the guidance of the Risk Management Supervisor and the Senior Claims Specialist.
Core Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Engage with employees, witnesses, or other relevant parties to gather necessary information.
  2. Authorize claims payments within designated monetary limits.
  3. Perform all tasks with the objective of showcasing exceptional claims handling proficiency.
  4. Work under technical supervision on assignments of increased complexity and coordination.
  5. Manage claims for assigned cases adhering to performance standards.
  6. Initiate new claims, liaising with relevant employees, supervisors, and safety teams to conduct necessary investigations for determining compensability and potential subrogation.
  7. Comprehend the reserving processes established by third-party administrators (TPA).
  8. Adhere to proper documentation procedures to ensure data integrity.
  9. Maintain consistent communication with TPA, legal representatives, and management teams to foster positive relationships and build credibility.
  10. Process invoices related to the Risk Department.
  11. Utilize logical reasoning to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  12. Collaborate effectively and harmoniously with colleagues.
  13. Respond constructively to feedback and performance evaluations.
  14. Ensure the accuracy of claims data in the relevant databases used for reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Four Years Equivalent Experience.
Specific Job Requirements:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background checks.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to manage confidential information ethically and professionally.
  • Quick learner with the capacity to assimilate new information.
  • Basic knowledge of Auto Liability and General Liability claims.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly over the phone.

Salary Range:
  • $79,000 - $110,833.00
  • This range reflects the company's reasonable expectations for compensation for this position. Actual salary may vary based on role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
