Your Role and Responsibilities
The Exhibition Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization and execution of exhibitions, gallery setups, and special initiatives within the museum. This role requires close collaboration with various departments across the institution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight:
    • Establish, communicate, and monitor project timelines and budgets for designated exhibitions and installations, ensuring adherence to schedules and financial constraints.
    • Facilitate the execution of traveling exhibitions by preparing tour documentation and managing contracts with partners and venues under the guidance of the Director of Exhibition Planning.
    • Lead planning sessions with project teams to ensure alignment and progress on assigned initiatives.
  • Coordination and Scheduling:
    • Assist in managing the museum's exhibition planning calendar, prioritizing gallery rotations and special projects while ensuring cross-departmental collaboration.
    • May conduct weekly meetings to assess the status of upcoming projects with various departments.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and oversee detailed budgets for exhibitions and installations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and monitoring.
    • Collaborate with Development and Finance teams on grant applications and financial reports related to exhibitions.
  • Effective Communication:
    • Create and maintain digital platforms for efficient information sharing regarding exhibition planning and implementation.
    • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in project management with the ability to meet deadlines in complex environments.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic setting.
  • Resourceful and creative problem-solver with a positive outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse personalities across departments.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with current museum practices is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Position Details:

  • This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 35 hours per week.
  • The salary for this role is $49,400.
  • This position is part of a bargaining unit.
  • Reports to the Director of Exhibition Planning.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to remain stationary for extended periods and perform administrative tasks in various museum environments.
  • A background check will be conducted following a conditional job offer.
