About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Lovelace Regional Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate expertise in sterile techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup, including sterilization methods.
  • Support physicians in a variety of surgical procedures, including specialty procedures in the operating room.
  • Function as a team member in planning for special patient needs.
  • Consistently demonstrate performance that contributes to safe, efficient, and swift completion and turnover of surgical procedures.
  • Ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments used in all procedures.
  • Complete basic OR Tech competencies and departmental-specific competencies.
  • Take ownership of assignments and perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers, and share knowledge effectively.
  • Cooperate and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
  • Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
  • CPR certification.
  • Preferred qualifications: Certified OR Tech or 1 year of OR experience.
