Role Purpose

This supervisory role is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of an activity therapy program tailored to meet the diverse needs of individuals and groups.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential to ensure the integration of activity therapy within the broader treatment framework, while monitoring program activities to align with client objectives.

As a supervisor, you will be involved in hiring recommendations, training, work assignment, performance evaluations, coaching, and implementing progressive discipline as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of team members.
  • Ensure that the team's productivity aligns with the operational goals set by leadership.
  • Participate in the formulation of departmental budgets and ensure adherence to financial objectives.
  • Organize and refine activity therapy services, developing policies and procedures for the areas under supervision.
  • Assess service needs, establish goals, and prioritize activities in alignment with agency objectives.
  • Guarantee that activity therapy services comply with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage clinical education opportunities for staff and students in recreational therapy.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in a supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 5-10 years in supervisory roles.
