We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. In this role, you will operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and perform procedures according to established standards and practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately utilizing the PACS (Picture Archival System) to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with minimum number of exceptions.
  • Entering proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and arriving and completing exams in a timely fashion.
  • Assisting in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reporting any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
  • Instructing and supervising radiography students in clinical practicum, and working with the radiography student to perform exams as well as performing individual image evaluation.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including operating MRI equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas and producing diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist.
  • Preparing and positioning patients properly and providing clear and concise instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam, and ensuring quality review of the images fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP.
  • Practicing safety protocols with regard to patient and employee safety when in range of magnetic field, and ensuring MRI safety protocols are practiced.

Requirements include a Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services, a New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit, and an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of Hire or transfer. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills are also required.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Program or related Health field, and years of MRI technologist or training experience.
