Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in a part-time capacity. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performing procedures according to established standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas as ordered, producing high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Prepare and position patients properly, providing clear and concise instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam.
  • Ensure quality review of images falls within departmental SOP guidelines, practicing safety protocols to protect patients and employees from the magnetic field.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies, reporting any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
  • Provide instruction and supervision to radiography students in clinical practicum, working with students to perform exams and evaluate images.

Requirements:

  • Technical Diploma or Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
  • New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit.
  • ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of hire or transfer.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, with basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Program or related health field, with years of MRI technologist or training experience.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $54.85 hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
