Licensed Vocational Nurse II

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join our team in the Adult Endocrinology Clinic. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide focused care to assigned patients with predictable healthcare needs, aiming to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
- Directed practice under supervision of registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, physician assistant, physician, dentist or podiatrist.
- Functions under own license providing technical component of care such as medication administration and clinical procedures.
- Collects data and performs focused patient assessments.
- Participates in the plan of care.
- Implements appropriate plan of care within scope of practice.
- Solicits orders or initiates standing orders for prescription refills and implements standing delegation orders as necessary for specific population management.
- Implements teaching plans for patients with well-defined health problems and well-defined learning needs.
- Provides direct basic care to assigned patients.
- Performs telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate follow up.
- Performs all functions related to clinic and patient flow to include clinic preparation, supply stocking, EHR review, preparation for and assistance with procedures, scheduling appointments.
- May manage, evaluate, and coordinate the vocational nursing personnel and the direction of services for optimum patient care.
- May manage Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
- Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Adheres to standards of practice for vocational nurses.
- Current Texas Licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
- Minimum Education: LVN license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing
- Minimum Experience: Two (2) years experience required; supervisory experience preferred. Previous research experience is preferred for LVNs working in research environment.
