About the Orthopedic Trauma Unit:
- Oversee patient care in our 32-bed Orthopedic and Trauma Unit, focusing on total hip and knee replacements, elective shoulder surgeries, and traumatic orthopedic injuries.
- Administer intravenous antibiotics for patients with joint infections and manage medical-surgical overflow cases.
- Employ telemetry monitoring to ensure patient safety and achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to create and execute comprehensive care plans.
- Uphold high standards of nursing practice and comply with hospital policies and procedures.

Nursing Support and Staffing:
- The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically maintained at 1:5-6 during day shifts and 1:6-7 during night shifts.
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) assist in managing patient loads, and charge nurses may provide direct patient care support.
- Support staff includes Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other personnel to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion within 5 years of hire. RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt.
- Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Required License/Certifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC license may apply.
- Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Preferred Experience: One year of hospital nursing experience.
