Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to enhance our financial processes and reporting frameworks. This role is essential for providing insights that support strategic decision-making regarding resource allocation and expenditure. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in financial management within research and development environments, particularly in early-stage biotech firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a financial and operational partner for our Research and Development and General Administrative teams.
- Collaborate with functional departments to create accurate resource and operating expense budgets and forecasts, while monitoring actual expenditures against projections.
- Analyze key performance indicators and spending risks, proposing and implementing corrective measures for significant variances.
- Ensure adherence to all budget and forecast deadlines and deliverables.
- Support teams in developing and tracking key planning assumptions, promoting cross-functional alignment and transparency.
- Work closely with R&D teams to ensure financial resources align with both immediate and long-term strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with the Accounting team on month-end accruals and expense recognition processes.
- Provide comprehensive financial analysis to inform portfolio decision-making and consolidated budget reporting.
- Design, update, and maintain corporate-level financial reporting, delivering analytics that compare against prior versions and targets.
- Enhance reporting capabilities and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; an MBA is advantageous.
- Experience in life sciences, particularly in financial roles supporting pre-clinical and clinical trials.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with all management levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
