Pre-Screening Testing NP/PA Specialist

The Pre-Screening Testing NP/PA will play a critical role in ensuring that patients planning surgical procedures receive safe, efficient, and optimal outcomes. This position requires the implementation of evidence-based practice protocols to ensure optimal outcomes for patients. The successful candidate will contribute to the organization's objectives by providing preoperative care that is patient-centered, fiscally responsible, and time-effective.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-admission assessment for patients to ensure they are optimized for surgery and implement appropriate service line protocols.
- Plan and implement preoperative pain management plans for all chronic pain patients seen in the Preoperative Testing Center.
- Develop and implement orientation and education for providers and staff, including RNs, APRNs, and Anesthesia Residents.
- Maintain a database of PAT volumes and outcomes, and communicate relevant information to the Department Chair.
- Serve as a resource and provider to physicians, staff, and patients to resolve issues related to pre-admission testing and evaluation, pain management, and other identified anesthesia issues.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes by communicating relevant and critical information to avoid cancellations and delays of surgical procedures.
- Responsible for scheduling APRNs to meet the needs of patients and the department.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

- Interpretation of Diagnostic Tests
- Advanced Pharmacology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competency in various computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Electronic Medical Records
- Effective teaching skills
- Experience in developing and implementing education plans
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including verbal and written skills
This position is located at Norwalk Hospital Association and requires a Part-Time schedule with Standard Hours of 24.00. The work schedule is Day 8, with a Work Shift of 9am-5pm.
