Nurse Practitioner Pre-testing Screening Specialist

The Nurse Practitioner Pre-testing Screening Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and optimal outcomes for patients planning surgical procedures. This position requires the implementation of evidence-based practice protocols to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-admission assessments for patients to ensure they are optimized for surgery and implement appropriate service line protocols.
- Collaborate with the Director of the GPS Home to determine the need for further consultation and testing to ensure patient optimization.
- Plan and implement preoperative pain management plans for all chronic pain patients seen in PAT.
- Maintain a database of PAT volumes and outcomes, communicating relevant information to the Department Chair.
- Develop and implement plans to optimize volumes and promote patient satisfaction.
- Serve as a resource and provider to physicians, staff, and patients to resolve issues related to pre-admission testing and evaluation, pain management, and other identified anesthesia issues.
- Assist the Director and Chair in new program development, market assessment, and public relations, and assist with coordination and implementation of new projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes by communicating relevant and critical information to avoid cancellations and delays of surgical procedures.
- Responsible for scheduling APRNs to meet the needs of patients and the department.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

- Advanced Pharmacology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competency in various computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Electronic Medical Records
- Effective teaching skills
- Experience in developing and implementing education plans
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including verbal and written skills
This position is located at Nuvance Health's Norwalk location and requires a part-time schedule with standard hours of 24.00. The work schedule is day shift, 9am-5pm, with an FTE of 0.50.
